Celeste’s new single titled “There Will Come A Day” has appeared online. The song released by Polydor Records promotes the new version of the film “The Color Purple”. A moving, jazz-tinged ballad that unfolds with the introduction of strings and a soul-funk groove opens another exciting chapter in the career of one of the biggest British stars of recent years.

The world premiere of “The Color Purple”, executive produced by Quincy Jones, Larry Jackson and Scott Sanders, will take place on January 26, 2024. On December 25 this year, the film will be shown in theaters in the United States. In the film we will hear both songs from the Broadway musical “The Color Purple” (2005) and 16 new songs inspired by the plot. From love and pain to strength and redemption, the new songs capture the essence of The Color Purple while paving the way for a new era of the musical.

Celeste recorded “There Will Come A Day” with Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist and producer DetoNate. Add to that the music of Brenda Russeell, Allee and Willis and Stephen Bray from the Grammy-winning musical “The Color Purple” and you have a unique combination of nostalgia and refreshing newness.
